Chef Bailey Southerland can’t get any satisfaction – at least not in the way that really matters. She’s got family and friends she adores and a promising career, but her love life is like a soufflé that never managed to rise. When the mouthwatering writer with his clear blue eyes and easy, open manner moves into the cottage down the hill, it looks like things might finally be going her way. She doesn’t need him to be Mr. Right, but he has all the makings of a fantastic Mr. Right Now.
Badly burned by love, Trace Campbell tried to convince himself he’s content being just friends with his gorgeous neighbor, Bailey. If he can’t get his hands on her at least he can sink them in the soil and grow the produce on his farm that she needs for her restaurant, spending time with her while keeping her at a safe distance. But strawberries are a poor substitute for mind-numbing kisses and when another man shows up and it’s obvious he’s interested in more than Bailey’s cooking, Trace has to dig his head out of the dirt and put his heart on the line or risk losing the woman he loves.

I was expecting a little more from this story and was disappointed in the lack of development in the relationship between the main characters. Once again we have an H who holds back way too much because of his prior disappointment in love. The h has carried a torch for the guy for 4 years and although he loves her, he doesn't act because he values the friendship too much. Eventually a gorgeous writer comes through and the h gives up on the H to nearly, very nearly get involved with the writer. The H wakes up at last but unfortunately there was something in me saying that the h should have gone with the writer. I hate that as I should only ever be wanting the main characters to be together. Anyway it was entertaining and I will go on to read the others in the series.Product details

Loving Bailey A Southerland Family Contemporary Romance The Southerlands Book 2 eBook Evelyn Adams Reviews
An excellent story. I enjoyed the complexity of the whole. Like in real life many things are going on at the same time. Family issues come up, there are natural consequences to nature which can put additional stress on, and sometimes people need a wake up call or jolt to realise they may miss out on the best parts of their life.
I have been hooked on this series since May. Bailey was rather quiet in the first story of the series; however she really shines in her story. Trace is a loner who has loved her for a long time but cannot believe she would have feelings for him though I do not know why when she has done everything she can to get his attention. Find out why he is so reticent. These two make a great meal when they finally get together. Start this series now and do not miss this installment. This is a great family with great parents!
I liked this story but I didn't LOVE it. It was good. I enjoyed reading about Bailey and Trace, but I felt like it was missing something.
I don't know what though. I did feel like it ended abruptly without us learning exactly how Bailey resolved the mess she was in during the final chapter.
I do enjoy this series and this author though.
While I enjoy the theme of this series, I didn't enjoy reading this part of the series. I like Bailey and Trace, but I didn't 'like' their story, as I didn't feel invested in what was happening in their lives, as I did with Jude and Autumn. Nevertheless the plot and characters did what was supposed to be done, which was entertain the reader. Three stars
This is the second installment of the Southerland family romance series.
Reading the first isn’t required to enjoy this, but I did like having the background on the characters. Bailey, one of the sisters, is the chef/owner of a restaurant in a resort area. She’s had her eye on Trace, a local farmer, for a while, but his hang-ups about love have kept their relationship platonic. This isn’t an elaborately plotted book and I did feel like the ending was extremely rushed. But overall, it was a sweet and entertaining romance with some real heat between the two main characters. I look forward to continuing the rest of the series. I like how Adams writes realistic women, women who don’t sit at home pouting and waiting for men to notice them.
This is book number two in this series. I think you could read this one without reading the first one, but you will have a hard time knowing who the characters are. Plus, book one is awesome so it's well worth the read. This is the story of Trace and Bailey. Trace has loved Bailey from afar, but he is afraid to love because he hasn't had good role models in that department. Bailey is tired of waiting on Trace. A misunderstanding causes a new character to enter their lives. Spencer is a hot writer looking for a good time. Sparks fly between Bailey and Spencer. Trace doesn't like this turn of events. The triangle consumes most of the book. Bailey knows who she wants, but she likes what is in front of her as well. Dual point of view. No cliffhanger. We get to visit with the characters whom we loved in book one.
Bailey owns her own restaurant at the top of the Mountain, Spencer is a writer staying at Mountain Lake Lodge, Trace is the farmer at the base of the Mountain. Set in the location of the famous scene, where "Nobody puts Baby in the corner", this crossed romance will have you laughing and crying.
Will Bailey ever get Trace to notice her, "in that way?" Will she give up on her love for Trace and settle for Spencer? Trace, oh sweet farmer, Trace has seen what love is like when it is destroyed. It is better to never love than to love and have it destroyed. And that is what really hurts, because Bailey knows it's true. Trace wouldn't love lightly and when he did, it would be forever.
Very easy and fun read. If you love a hot steamy romance, then grab this book, sit back and enjoy the journey to love.
